Returns & Refunds

At Kimono Collective, each piece is either vintage or individually upcycled from traditional Japanese textiles. Because of this, most items are one-of-a-kind.

We want you to love your piece. If something isn't right, we're here to help.

Right of Withdrawal

If your purchase is covered by applicable consumer protection law, you may have the right to withdraw from your purchase within 14 days of receiving your order, without giving a reason.

You must communicate your decision to withdraw before the withdrawal period expires. You do not need to wait for our confirmation to exercise this right.

Effects of Withdrawal

Where a statutory right of withdrawal applies, we will reimburse payments received for the order, including the cost of the least expensive standard delivery option we offered.

If you selected a more expensive delivery option, we are not required to reimburse the additional cost.

We will issue the refund using the same payment method used for the original purchase, unless you expressly agree otherwise and no additional fees result.

We will process the reimbursement without undue delay and no later than 14 days after being informed of your decision to withdraw. For physical goods, we may withhold reimbursement until we receive the goods or you provide evidence that you have sent them back, whichever happens first.

Return Shipping

Please contact us at kimono.collective.jp@gmail.com before sending an item back so we can provide the appropriate return-shipping address and instructions.

You must send the goods back without undue delay and within 14 days of notifying us of your withdrawal.

Customers are responsible for the direct cost of return shipping where permitted by applicable law and where they were informed of this responsibility before purchase.

We recommend using a tracked shipping service.

Return Conditions

We ask that returned items be handled with care and returned in the condition in which they were received.

Items should not have been worn beyond what is necessary to try them on, washed, altered or damaged.

If an item shows signs of handling beyond what is necessary to establish its nature, characteristics and fit, you may be liable for any resulting diminished value where permitted by applicable law.

These conditions do not remove any statutory right of withdrawal or other consumer rights that may apply.

Refunds

Once a return is received, we will inspect the item and process the refund in accordance with the applicable statutory requirements or the terms agreed for a voluntary return.

For statutory withdrawals, the refund deadlines and any permitted withholding of reimbursement described above will apply.

For returns accepted outside the statutory withdrawal period, we will communicate any applicable conditions before the return is arranged.

Exchanges

Because most pieces in our collection are unique vintage garments, exchanges are usually not possible.

If you would like to exchange an item, please contact us and we will do our best to help you find another piece you love. Exchanges outside any applicable statutory rights are subject to our agreement.

Vintage Garments

Many items in our collection are vintage Japanese textiles. Small imperfections, marks or signs of age may be present.

These characteristics may be part of the history and authenticity of the garment and will be described as accurately as possible.

We photograph and describe each item carefully so you know what you're receiving. Pre-existing characteristics disclosed in the product description are not necessarily defects. Your statutory rights remain unaffected if an item is faulty or not as described.

Damaged or Incorrect Items

If your order arrives damaged or you receive an incorrect item, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible at kimono.collective.jp@gmail.com, including photographs and your order number where possible.

We will work with you to resolve the issue.

Please note that any request to contact us within a specified timeframe is intended to help us investigate the issue promptly and does not limit any statutory consumer rights or remedies.
