Benika is a striking vintage silk haori in a vivid crimson red, beautifully decorated with intricate shibori, a traditional Japanese resist-dyeing technique. Shibori involves carefully binding, folding, or stitching sections of fabric before dyeing, creating distinctive patterns and a beautifully textured surface. Each variation is shaped by hand, giving the fabric its unique character.
The delicate white shibori details spread across the silk, while larger floral motifs seem to emerge softly from the vibrant crimson background. The contrasting inner lining, with elegant touches of gold and vermilion, adds another layer of traditional Japanese beauty.
The name Benika, meaning “Crimson Blossom,” reflects the image of flowers blooming in brilliant shades of red.
